Marbella is the name most golfers think of first when they picture the Costa del Sol, and for good reason. Within half an hour of the town you can play some of the most celebrated courses in Spain, then spend the evening in the old town, on the marina at Puerto Banús or in one of the coast's finest restaurants.
A golf holiday in Marbella suits golfers who want more than golf: a beautiful hotel, a long lunch after the round, a partner who would rather visit the spa or the boutiques. We build each trip around you, choosing the courses, the hotel and the tee times that suit your group, and we take care of every transfer from the moment you land at Málaga.
Golf courses in Marbella
The heart of Marbella golf is Nueva Andalucía, known as the Golf Valley, just behind Puerto Banús. Here three classic courses sit almost side by side:
- Real Club de Golf Las Brisas: a Robert Trent Jones Sr. design from 1968, full of water and mature trees, and one of the best-presented courses on the coast.
- Los Naranjos: another Trent Jones Sr. layout, laid out between orange groves, with generous fairways and a relaxed, classic feel.
- Aloha Golf: a demanding Javier Arana design from 1975, a private club where visitor times are limited.
Within easy reach you will also find Río Real (Javier Arana, 1965) on the east side of town, Santa Clara, Marbella Club Golf Resort, Los Arqueros (a Seve Ballesteros design) and La Quinta, while the dramatic mountain course at Monte Mayor in Benahavís is a memorable day out. Valderrama, Finca Cortesín and the Sotogrande courses are all within 40–50 minutes.

Marbella has some of the best hotels in Spain, from five-star beachfront resorts on the Golden Mile to smaller boutique hotels in the old town. If golf is the priority we usually suggest staying in or near Nueva Andalucía or on the Golden Mile, so the Golf Valley courses are 5–10 minutes away. Groups who also want a lively evening often choose a hotel near Puerto Banús; couples looking for peace tend to prefer the beachfront resorts east of town.
Tell us your style and budget (3★, 4★ or 5★) and we'll suggest two or three hotels that genuinely suit you, never a one-size-fits-all package.
Off the course
Marbella's old town, with its whitewashed lanes and Plaza de los Naranjos, is perfect for an evening stroll and dinner. Puerto Banús offers the yachts, the bars and the designer boutiques, and the beach clubs along the coast are ideal for a rest day. Non-golfing partners have spas, shopping and day trips to Ronda or Málaga to choose from.
