Most of the golf on the Costa del Sol isn't about famous names or luxury. It's about friendly, well-kept courses, sunshine, a cold drink on the terrace after the round and a good dinner without breaking the bank. That's exactly the kind of trip many of our guests ask for, and we plan it with the same care as any other.
How we keep your trip great value
- The right courses: the coast has plenty of friendly, well-kept courses with fair green fees, especially around Mijas, Benalmádena and Málaga. See our course guide for ideas.
- A comfortable base: good 3★ and 4★ hotels or apartments close to the courses and the beach.
- Short transfers: staying in Mijas, Benalmádena or Torremolinos keeps travel time and costs down.
- Smart timing: winter and the shoulder months often offer better prices, and many courses have reduced twilight rates.
- Everything in one price, so there are no surprises.
Where to stay
Mijas and Benalmádena are our first recommendation: more than twenty courses within half an hour, lots of hotels at every level and lively, affordable evenings in Fuengirola and Benalmádena. Torremolinos is ideal for short breaks close to the airport, and Estepona offers a relaxed pace and good value on the western side of the coast.
When to go
The mild winter months, from November to February, are excellent for golf and usually better value than spring and autumn. June and September are also a good balance of warm weather and lower demand. See our guide to the best time to play.
